OFFICE POLICIES

Please help us keep our office clean so each visit can be an enjoyable experience for all:

No Food Allowed, other than breastfeeding and formula for infants.

No cell phones in the waiting room, exam rooms, and hallways except for emergencies.

No smoking on the premises.

Dirty diapers go in the outside trash bins.

We often refer to a variety of talented, mostly pediatric specialists in the area for things that need specialty care. We will almost always suggest you start with an appointment with us, although at times and for certain conditions we will make suggestions by phone. It is your responsibility to check with your insurance company and with the specialist to be sure your visit will be covered. If a referral is needed, call our office, ask for the referral line, and leave all the required information. Please be sure you call in advance of your appointment to allow time to process the referral. Other than for emergencies, there is a 2-3 day turn around time for referrals.

We refill prescriptions during regular office hours. Call, or send a request via the new patient portal, or have your pharmacy send a request. Refills are done within 24 hours, unless authorization is required. We will notify you if there are any problems. There is a $15.00 charge for prescription refill requests made after hours.

A physician is available 24/7 for you after hour urgent and emergent needs by calling 404-508-1177. For less urgent needs nurse call centers provided by each insurance company are available. After 9:00pm on weekdays and after 2:00pm on Saturdays there is a fee of $15.00  to speak directly with the physician. This is waived if the call relates to a recent visit or results in an office visit within 24 hours.

Our front office staff answers all calls between 8:30 am and 1:00pm and from 2:00pm until 5:00 pm. Please be as clear as possible with information such as your child’s name, date of birth, and the reason you are calling. Be very clear if you think you have an urgent medical situation. You can ask to be transferred to the form line to leave information about a form you need, the referral line as outlined above, the prescription refill line, or the nurse advice line. Read here to learn more about the nurse advice line protocol. If you want to schedule an appointment for a sick visit, call the day your child is sick for a same day appointment. Call in advance for well visits, rechecks, and consults.
